This is a reminder that contact information for delegates to the CMG national convention being held Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5, in Toronto must be submitted by Friday, February 26, 2016 (to firstname.lastname@example.org ).
The number of delegates for each branch or location unit eligible to attend is determined by a formula based on membership. Specific numbers are available here: http://www.cmg.ca/en/2016-convention-delegate-entitlement/ . The branch or location unit is responsible for organizing an election to determine who shall receive credentials as voting delegates.
The elected union presidents from all branches and locations are automatic delegates, and each location may also send additional non-voting delegates (observers). Check with your local union executive if you would like to attend.
Every two years the union holds a national convention to hear from members and set priorities.
Any member can submit a resolution relating to union by-laws, policies and operations. All resolutions effecting by-laws must be submitted by April 4, 2016.
Each resolution must be seconded by another CMG member. Resolutions regarding CMG National by-laws can be submitted here: email@example.com . Resolutions affecting CBC Branch by-laws can be submitted here: firstname.lastname@example.org . Click here to see the current CMG bylaws ; Click here to see the current CBC/CMG by-laws .
General policy resolutions (that do not affect by-law changes) can be submitted any time up to and including at the convention, but we encourage advance submission so supporting information can be available.
